The platform on which the Uninet service is currently delivered is not year 2000 compliant and will be phased out by the end of November. A new system has already been developed and all existing customers are being migrated to this new system with no loss of connectivity or disruption to the service provided the following changes are made. The deadline for these changes are midnight November 30 1999.
All current users of this service will simply need to change the login name in two places from the existing format ( uni123ab ) to {nodename}.uninet.co.uk
The nodename is the portion of the e-mail address directly after the @ sign, for example someuser@somecompany.uninet.co.uk.
